Crazy gauge idea
Anybody have an idea how to use an iPad or similar computer to replace the center gauge panel ???
I have seen programs that will read from the diagnostic port (i've got one for the ls1) and give somewhat of a panel looking deal.
Also, there are some data loggers that the drag racers use that have all the readouts on a single screen.
Plus you'd have GPS mapping, iPod etc. etc.
Thanks,
Frank

I started working on a double din receiver located were the gauges were, and moving the 3 main gauges to where the radio currently is. I thought it would be a better looking design.
But, other projects took precidence.

On the other forum someone is programming a interface himself for his C3 with all the functionality you mentioned.

My IT friend is coming for dinner tonight and I plan on putting the arm on him.
I'm leaning toward the iPad though and the Dash Control program as listed above. Tight on money right now and it may be a trade off between the gauges and some front end work.
Thanks,
Frank

Yeah its not cheap but neither were the 9 autometer gauges I put in the center section of my dash (1100.bucks) when I did my turbo install, plus the new autometer tach and speedo (400 bucks) that I still need to buy. Also when I put the nine gauges in I lost the stereo. Let us know what your IT buddy thinks.

Check out MP3car.com. That site is full of car computer setups and custom software. I'd started on my own a while back, but actually getting the vette back up and running took priority. I need a test car after all.
