Door panel removal on 75 vette
Does anyone have a description of how to remove the door panel on a 1975 corvette? I don't want to start breaking clips or bending things like the door lock mechanism and would rather find someone with a manual or step by step instructions. The car does not have power windows or power locks. Any help would be appreciated.. thanks..

You have to take the door locks off and the window crank. They are held in place with a c shaped clip. To get this clip off there is a tool you can buy, but others have also used a cloth/rag to snag one of the c ends, and pull it off. I use a modified jewelers screwdriver with 1/8inch bent 90 degrees at the tip. That lets me snag the end of the c clip and pull it out.
The Door handle may also need to be removed. Pull out on the door handle and remove the small phillips head screw. The handle will slide out of a groove. It does not pull off, but slides out or into this groove. The ends of the groove are fragile and can break if you try to force it out.
THe handle is held in place with two philips screws and these need to come out.
Next there may be a couple of screws holding the door panel in place at the bottom. This should have a clip attached to the fiberboard backing.
From this point you should be able to move the panel out and up to clear the top sill piece.

Door handle does not need to be removed.
1. Remove clips from lock **** and crank.
2. Remove door pull (2 screws)
3. Remove two screws at top of panel (front and rear) and two screws at bottm (clips on front of rear of door, small block).
4. Lift top edge of panel off door. Slide panel forward over dorr handle.
Takes about 5 minutes after you have done it a few times.

AIM helps. Check your panels. You may have additional trim screws added by a PO.
