Default Need pics of LED tail light conversion

I am on the fence on whether or not to replace my tail lights with 4 LED's and backup lights with a LED license plate frame. My lights just don't seem bright enough...I'm worried someone will slam into the back of me. I need pictures and opinions please. I know it has been discussed before but there never are that many pictures in previous threads.

It has a single row of white LEDs on both sides of the plate.

That could happen in daylight. In the dark, it could happen with or without LEDs.

It would have to be 74-82 cause they make a set for the 68-73..

I would do the all 4 lens if i had a back up light on the lic plate..

is there a vendor that makes them... Moser where you getting yours ? ?

Mine is an 81. The vender is on ebay. Seller is allintown. Item #390100875740 is the backup LED in case you want to see it. It may be too wide for the opening on the 81. Looks really cool though.

They apparently make them for the 74-82's too. These are from Ecklers:

The LED light kit is item #390239641542. They look like stock 80-82 lights to me. I just wanted to see them lit up on someone's car before I bought them. As far as the installation goes I was thinking of getting two extra pigtails and splice into two of the lights. That way the original wiring wold be untouched should I decide to go back to the standard lights.

Sorry about the lack of info...............

I bought the LED trailer lights and modified the backs by epoxying on some small bolts that lined up with some holes I had drilled on the inner metal brackets of the tail light housings.

It was cheap and easy, and best of all the trailer LED lights fit perfectly in the 82 Vette rear bumper!

I definately like the look of the four tail lights. The 80-82 should have been like that anyway. How did you wire the inner set of lights? Did you just splice them into the original wiring?

Simply spliced them together. You will need some sort of back up lights (some opt for none). The white LED's above my plate are wired into my back up lamps.

I am sure they can, the ones used on sweet 82 are only about 80 bucks at harbor freight though. I think I am going to do the harbor freight lights and see what they look like.
