Default 76 to 79 Kelsey Hayes Center Color ?

Anyone know if the center color on a 1976 to 1979 Kelsey Hayes alumunim rim is gloss black or satin black, my rims are faded and would like to clean them up and repaint them close to factory, thank you for any help in advance.
Thank You
Jack

Google 1976 to 1979 Kelsey Hayes alumunim rim and then go to the mid america motor works website and they have the rims there. Each year is different. I think this is what you mean.

Are you talking about in the slots or around the center hub? Slots are a flat and the center hub is a low gloss.

The slots are not painted, the centers are semi flat.

Depends on which year wheel you are talking about.

The date on the rims denote 1979 and they are currently flat black on the slots and looks like dull but not flat black in the center, from the back of the rim they look like they are factory paint ? anyway alot of guys are telling me that the slots should be unpainted, i know at some of the car shows i see rims both ways.

Depending on the year, the slots are either not painted or painted, one year had a red ring around the outer edge of the wheel, look at Mid-America Motor works - they sell the repro's and they have them for each year the wheel was used. I think 1980 had the slot unpainted and the center hub painted black. 1981 hand the slots Black and no paint on the Center hub.

Yep. Some of the slots are painted. It depends on model year. Just off the top of my head, I believe they're black on my 80.

The YJ8s with red pin stripes are Pace Car wheels and are polished more than the regular big wheels.

You could aslo do a search on painted aluminum wheel centers. I asked this very question a little more than a month ago and got a lot of good responses. I wound up painting my centers Rustoleum satin black, per KapsSA's recommendation for my 79 as he has a couple of very low mileage cars.
