Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!!
I love this corvette forum.
I have already started spending hush money on it. The radio and the clock didn't work so I have sent them in to get fixed and I have new factory exhaust ordered. I can't wait to get that engine compartment detailed.

Welcome! Forgiveness>permission! I love to hear of other car collectors that keep a special place for a certain car in their heart and wallet. Especially when it is a chrome-bumper corvette!
You may want to look around here and see who else has 68's. There is a group of us, http://forums.corvetteforum.com/grou...rs-united.html
Enjoy that car!!!!

Wow great looking car Keta, congrats. It is widely accepted that '68 owners are the best looking and most intelligent people on here

Default detailing engine compartment

You'll be surprised how quickly your engine compartment shapes up with a min. amount of cleaning and repainting, etc. It will respond quickly to look more like the outside.

Sweet!! You don't often see pics of a C3 in the snow.

I know, I didn't want to back it out of the garage but we were moving some stuff around and I didn't want anything to get too close to the car.
The first night I stayed out in the garage until 5:30am cleaning the exterior and I used a clay bar on it's factory original paint. I am shocked how well the paint has held up.

The old acrylic lacquer, if not too hardened and cracked from being left out in the son, cleans up real nice with a clay bar. My wife's car got booted out of the 2-car garage to make room for the vette. The Harley was moved to the living room. Need all the space I can get in my man-cave. Haven't tried spending the night out there yet...

Congratulations on the purchase/barter and the story of how you got it.
