If you want it done right bring a dump truck full of money. Depending on shape figure about 75-100k or more.

For my money I would go to Tony's Corvette in Gaithersburg, MD.

When I cannot do something that is where I go.

He is the best and has gone something like 60 for 60 or 80 for 80 on first attempts to Top flight.

Or, you could just sell it to me so I can restore it, and then you would not have to worry about it and spend all that big money!!!

Have you visited Burke Corvettes in the Orlando area? I don't know anything about them personally but have seen some of their work. It's close enough to you to at least go check it out.

I would suggest that you will need multiple shops for your resto. When I did mine I thought that going to a "Corvette Specialist" would take care of everything. After 8 plus months and a ton of money my car was done. The problem being is that you trust them to take care of everything and like anything else if you don't stay on top of things alot of things can go wrong as well as overbudget. I just found out that some of the suspension work that was supposed to be done was NOT done. It's too late to go back and have them correct it. I wouldn't if I could, stay on top of whoever does your work. If you would like to know the whole story email me.

I've been very pleased with Carr's Corvettes & Customs in Plano/Dallas Texas. This link provides detailed information about their company including great articles and pics of prior projects.

Good luck

Seeing you are in Fl. you could try Fierro Classics in Cape Coral. He is a personal friend of mine and has done work on my restored 70. He is a one man show, so he makes sure it is done correctly. I have seen a number of his resto work and he is the only one I would trust.

If you are going to spend 75-100 K you will have more money invested than the car is worth. For 50 k you could buy an A++ car and pick it up next week. And still have a bucket of cash left over.

I restored my car and have far more in it than I could ever sell it for (especially in todays market), and I did most of the work.

Just one guys opnion....

i agree. go to roger's corvettes. they are right in front of burke's corvettes. he has burke's corvettes do some of his work and they are great. they also did a little work on my 69 when i lived down there. stop in and check out roger's collection. i know for a fact that burke's did at least the paint on his nassau blue 66 425 hp big tank coupe that is displayed in his showroom.

Hi D,
Corvette Repair in Valley Stream, New York has a pretty serious reputation and a long track record.

Be cautious and do PLENTY of research before you chose!!! Follow up on any references you get be skeptical that it may just be the guys brother in law. There are a 100 shysting, incompetent 'restoration shops' for every 1 good one so just be careful!

And I would say get recommendations from people who've actually had work done on their cars, not just hearsay.

Really depends on what degree of restoration you are looking for. At the end of the day the dollars will be close and the result will be different.

For my dollars I want someone that has been in the business for a long time with great success.

Alan, you beat me to it!
It will cost you though as others have said. I met someone who worked there on the weekends. This was several years ago. He said they charge 70-80 per hour. An average frame off took about a 1000 hours.
