Default Out driving the '75 Stingray - NOW WITH VIDEO!

We finally had a reasonable day above zero so I took the Corvette for a drive.

The effect a vintage Corvette has on people in the midst of winter is fantastic! Tons of thumbs up and smiles. The roads were dry - but cold so the tires would spin on command. It was fun feeling the rear end wiggle as you pull away from a light or exit a corner. The sound of the exhaust & the look out the windshield with those tall fender crests in view were hard to beat today.

I even got a chance to let the big dogg eat and ran it up the dial a bit. It was nice to shake off the cold.

More to come as the weather warms!

Thanks guys. Normally I would have waited, but its been a long winter. Plus the roads are free of debris, and the salt etc is blown off for the time being - so off I went.

The car is a very good driver but not so perfect that I wont take it out on a good enough day and drive it as it was intended to be driven!

The roads around here, will be dangerous for any vintage Corvette, till at least April.

To the previous owners recollection the engine (matching L48) was rebuilt about 5000 miles ago. I have been told that it has a few warm up goodies and I see a true dual exhaust with nothing but Flowmaster 40's at the end. Its ample power but nothing over the top. Its actually just about right for the chassis. All of that fury is driven through the factory auto trans.

Mileage? Not great - as I can't drive 55.

I just put another 100 miles on 'er today.

I just rebuilt my Q-Jet to Cliffs specs and had the car running in the garage but there is just too much ice and snow around.... I don't want to get the underneath dirty

Nothing like a little romp to break up the monotony of winter!, nice ride
