Hmmmmmmmm??? Always a tough decision, to reveal what I paid or not. If I was sure I was going to keep it, I would tell you in a heart beat. But, since I already have a 70 project that I have put a lot of time and money in, and 70 is my favorite year, the chances are I will not keep this 69, and pass it on to someone else. That being the case, I hate to reveal what I have in it at this time. I will think about it some. Let's just say I think I got a fair deal for a high optioned, 69 X-big block tri-power 4spd car, with a great frame and birdcage, good body, and pretty decent interior.

I will add a couple of pictures of the inside and under side sometime soon. Way back when I was a young guy, I bought my first Corvette in 1974. It was a 1970 BB 4spd coupe, Mulsanne Blue with Bright Blue interior. Since then 70 has always been my favorite year.

Nice find. Good to see some love going into this vette. Even if you decide to "foster" her for a while, I'm sure she will eventually end up in a good home.
You said the original engine is gone, but was it replaced and if so with what?

Hi lb,
VERY nice find.
You mentioned side-exhaust. Do you think it's an original side exhaust car? If so, I think that's almost as good as having the original engine!!
Good Luck with it!
Regards,
Alan
PS: What area did it come from?

You may remember I sent you a PM about this car in late December of last year. It came out of Westminster.

Curious whats up with that nose emblem ?? Who would exchange the correct crossed flags for that ? What evidence do you have that it was a big block tri-power car ?
love to see more clear close up pics of interior & engine compartment.
Enjoy the project..........ZIXXXPACKER

Looks like a fun, inexpensive project. NOM, so you can do whatever suits you. Cool find.

Dad-gum Westminster hillbillies!
I don't recognize the home from the picture, but it looks like it is well off the beaten path. Do you recall what road? I am always curious as to what is sitting in old buildings and basements, and I may have driven by this one for thirty years!

A quick look under the rear of the car, where the standard under car exhaust would exit will generally reveal if it was a true sidepipe car. There should be a straight line there and no bodywork in the lower corner. Most people making the changeover just fill the hole. Actual pipe cars had a different lower fender as pictured below.
Nice find by the way.

Aside from the previous owner telling me it was a 427/400 tri-power car, it has all the normal signs of a big block car. It has a single fuel line, the correct tach, I have the tri-power air cleaner with the 400 hp decal, it has a rear sway bar, larger diameter front sway bar, caps on the halfshafts, and the 427/400 label on the console. It all appears to be original. I also have a few remnants of the tri-power set up including some fuel line parts and carburetor parts.
