To all ove you that might be wondering abought 100LL, I used it in an 83 motor home 454 for 8 years put just over16,000 miles with no issues works great, yes it runs a little lean just retard timing and adjust carb and it will work with no problems, My 69 350 11/1 cr loves it to. No I don't run it straight in the vette but 70/40 the 70 is av gas, 100LL. I have an off road mid engine vw buggy 2332 cc 180 HP with duel 48 Weber's that has ran on 100LL for over 10 years with no issues, keep the oil and plugs changed on a regular basis, have used this av gas for Minny years with no issues, good stuff as far as I'm concerned, OH i work at an Airport where 100 LL is at my convenience, count afford it other wise.

From Petersen Aviation.. They have done decades of research on fuels and hold the approval for "mogas" use in aircraft engines... "Maintenance costs are also reduced when using auto fuel. Many of our customers use auto fuel simply because their airplanes run better on it than they do on 100LL which, despite its name (100 Low Lead), contains twice as much lead as regular leaded auto fuel prior to the lead reductions which took place in 1986. This excess lead contributes to a host of problems, including fouled plugs and sticking valves."

Generally Exxon when I am around home. I'm not too picky though.
As far as the "smoke and mirrors" of octane rating, I have always put 93 octane in it and have never heard it ping. I only drive it 1500 miles per year or so, so I don't really care about the incremental $15 I spent on fuel this year to get the high test.

Use BP because that's what they sell at our Costco. No problems and it's less expensive there.

YES, details on the E85 conversion, please! I have a station just around the corner from home that sells the E85 and it is at least $.50 cheaper than regular unleaded. which is now at $3.29 a gallon. Would love to be able to use it in my '72 with base 350 engine. Let us know the details.
