Part name help: turn signal/ wiper switch
Anyone know what the name of the assembly that the turn signal/ wiper control shaft inserts into? My lever broke off and not only can I not get the broken end out (like breaking a key in a lock) but I think the switch is also broken.
What do I need to replace?
Thanks y'alls.

Let's start off with some basic info. What year car? What type steering column; T&T? or Standard (non-adjustable)?
If it is just needing to remove the broken stub here are some techniques.

Smitsc05,
There are at least four or five different dimmer pivot mechanisms (and correct turn signal levers) that are used on 1977 through 1982 Corvettes. It really is necessary to know what year and type of steering column in order to provide the correct replacement part(s).

1977 with Tilt and Telescoping column.
The switch functioned as High Beams, turn signal and Wiper control.
Is this enough information?

Yes, 1977 was a one year only part for the standard (non-adjustable) column and a different one year only part for the T&T column. For one year only, the C3 had the wash/wipe switch integrated into the dimmer pivot.
The GM part number for the 1977 T&T dimmer pivot is #7827252 but I think that it is no longer available.
The only place I have seen the dimmer pivot listed is at Corvette Central.
593037 1977 Wiper Switch w/T&T in Steering Column
It is listed on their website:
http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~partsort
The pivot may be available through other sources but it is typically quite difficult to locate in their catalogues. It may be under column parts, or under windshield washer parts, or switches, etc
A new lever can be purchased from several sources.
