My car was also sold by Bob Peck Chevrolet in 1973. They were one of the few dealerships that kept all corvette sales records and invoices. They closed in 2006 and the building was demolished in 2008. Before closing they would allow owners to come to the dealership and search their records. Numerous 1960's and 70's corvette and camaros owners located the original records for their cars. They even had a newspaper article framed on the showroom floor about a person that found his records after a 4 hour search.

They were Dealer code 305 in Zone 14. Address was 800 North Glebe, Arlington, VA 22203.

Don Peck, son of Bob Peck, sold the dealership in 2006. I do not know if they kept the dealership records and have them archived somewhere. They sold lots of C2 and C3 corvettes.

Photos of the dealership are still available as it was a local landmark.

Did a search and found an address for Don Peck. I wrote him a letter and got a very nice response from him. He told me that when they closed in 2006 all records were destroyed except those required for warranties.

C O R R E C T I O N : That would be a magnetic plate not a clip on & they are still used today. Dealers also use wing nut screws as well as ruberized frames with tabs to slam shut in trunks & rear doors so they hang.

427sixpack, that's one great picture. The weather looks like January here in Switzerland. But the cars are definitely not from here and from this time. Thanks.

*Edit: I'm referring to the first picture of course*

Great photos! Wish I could stroll in and pick up something off the used car lot circa 1965.

Brings back memories of being a kid. One of my buddies in the neighborhoods dad owned the local Chevy store from 68'-84ish. He was older than me, and got his license in 74'. Drove new demo's that were replaced every 4k miles. Always thought that was the coolest thing, for your dad to own a dealership. Lots of Camaro's and 454 El Camino's. Insurance company said no Vettes until he was 21. After that, there were many.

I remember in the seventies he drove a dark blue 70' Chevelle LS6 for a month or so. It came off the used car lot! Bet he wishes he had kept that one.

I need to call him and see if there are any photos of Fowlkes Chevrolet left around.

Default Gourley Chevy

Does anyone have ANYTHING from Gourley Chevrolet in Sewickley, PA? It is the dealer that my '78 Pace was sold from and I would love to find something/anything on this dealer. I know they were sold some years ago, and the new owner threw out all records.....

Not a Chevy dealer, but an important dealer for our family.

My dad started his Corvette love by buying a 65 convertible from this Pontiac dealer in Minneapolis back in 1967. He had the 65 for a few years then sold it. A few years later, be bought the 67 in my signature. Never letting go of that one.

Hansord Pontiac, Minneapolis, MN

I also have a picture of the selling dealer of my car. I'll post it when I get home.

My grandmother bought all her Impalas there. The last a 70 with a 350-350. That thing flew! Also my mom dated a pro baseball player during the 67 & 68 seasons and he ordered a 67 Taho Turquios SS 396-375 Camaro from there. One of the fastest cars I was ever in. He put a set of headers on it and had some other work done to it and it was pushing a bit over 400hp.
They also always had vettes there.
I think it was called CERAMI CHEVROLET and I think they sold Pontiacs also. This thread is great!

Here's the Chevy dealer that sold my car new. Southview Chevrolet, then in South St. Paul. Later in life, the dealership moved to West St. Paul. It was closed down and reopened as Mauer Chevrolet.

The Swift truck coming into the service bay was owned by the Swift Co. meat packer. South St. Paul, in its heyday, was the largest stock yard west of Chicago.
