I was looking at the pics and thinking "Names with pics would be cool". AussieJohn fixed that one right up for me. Now who are the rest of those folks. Looks like it was a great day and a nice turnout for John.
It never rains in southern California.......

I'm still here!!!
G'day Robert,
I'm staying with Solid and his wife in Fremont - great hosts - and am off to Lodi today to spend a week with a couple that we met on the Caravan last year. They're taking me to Yosemite on Thursday, so you'll hear about that before the weekend.
I've looked at a couple of convertible C3s over the last few days, but really want a rubber bumper one, preferably with both tops and manual transmission. Engine not important, nor steering, as I'll likely fit a Borgeson box in it when it gets here.
I'm hoping to find one in the Bay area or not too far away so that I can have a look at it before I leave for home on Thanksgiving. If anyone knows of one, please let me know.
BTW, nice looking bumper cover on your car, tell me more.
Reagards from up over.

Hi Randy,
Enjoy Vegas and see you when we're both back in the Bay area. The trip to Yosemite was breathtaking, you guys are sure fortunate to have that on your doorstep. El Capitan, Half Dome and all of the falls far surpass any similar features back home and I'm so glad I was taken there. A big thanks to Dee and Dave (C5 owners) for taking me there and letting me live in their home for a week.
I went to a shooting range today and shot a Winchester .223, S&W 9mm and a S&W .44 Magnum - my hand between the thumb and forefinger is still smarting. I guess I got to live out my inner Dirty Harry
Tonight there's a party for the Lodi Corvette owners to say hello to me and tomorrow we're off to the big swap meet at Pleasanton where I'm hoping to find a '74 or '75 vert for sale. And who knows what else.
Cheers for now, I'll be back soon.
Regards from up over

Today we went to the Pleasanton Goodguys Car Show and Swap Meet - hundreds of cars for sale, some were real gems to those who were after that type, but no '74 or '75 verts. A few chrome bumper cars on display, but nothing for sale. Quite a few C1 and C2s, a few C4s and a lot of C5s though.
Great sunny weather, just like a typical spring day in Melbourne. Oh, wait!!! Sorry, I guess not like that at all. LOL. We ran over a skunk the other evening, didn't see it in the dark until it was too late, and the car got sprayed. Now I know what skunk smells like!
We pulled the headers off Dave's Cobra yesterday to replace the gaskets - I got my side finished before Dave. A bit tricky getting the bolts to line up on the right side, but it's done. We might go for a spin in it tomorrow, 427 c.i. of grunt in a lightweight chassis, should be fun.
Tomorrow ( Sunday ) is a rest day, as two days at the swap meet would be too hard on our sore feet. There were lots of car parts there, I'd say it would come close to the Pomona meet I attended seven years ago. I spent a few hundred on badly needed parts and am pretty right now.
More news in a few days. Keep posted.
Regards from up over.

PS talked to Jeff with Borgeson, no problem with ~400 ft-lbs of torque on the pittman arm nut...just twist it on up.

Thanks, mate!
Kevin,
You'll give me a big head if you keep that up. I'm just happy to be able to help a fellow Forum member with what little knowledge I have. I'm off to Fremont tomorrow, where I'm catching up with Randy (682XLR8) before he drops me off at SolidLT1's place. Keep watching this space.

We've heard'em all
Good info on the pittman arm nut. The one on my Borgeson box is tightened to 150 lbs. the limit on my torque wrench. seems it should be tighter than that
Aussiejohn, see you at 3:30 we'll take a short cruise in the 68 then go have dinner with the family

It wasn't a joke, it was a suggestion j/k
I used a breaker bar with a 2 ft cheater and guessed I pulled 120-150 lbs. and flexed the breaker bar (craftsman) about an inch. Borgeson says that as long as you get the washer on and all the threads on the nut, I'm good. Let's hope I never have to pull it.
