Ah man. I just want it fixed!
So my C-3 got hit pretty good right in the nose a few weeks ago, and after a VERY short delay the insurance guy accepted liability and gave me a claim number and reassured me all was well.
So now they are gonna send up an appraiser to, well, appraise the car.
The insurance guy wants that, as the estimate is already up to 4000. However, right after the collision my rear end started to leak-one of the spring bolts ears was broken and the bolt dropped, loosening the other three and the spring.
So I never thought I'd be around to see it , but I'm looking forward to missing this Geoge Jetson bs of a vehicle the rental agency has me in. A 2010 Chevy HHR. Not bad, but under powered and quite a whiner. "Chime-chime this, chime-chime that"
Anyone have any advice as far as keeping the car? They mentioned that it might be listed as a complete loss. (sniffle)
And if it is totaled, will that ruin its value forever?

I'm guessing your insurance company is going to total the car. You may be able to purchase the car from them if you want to go that route.

Is this their insurance guy or yours? If theirs why on earth are you going through them unless you have some kind of injury.
I assume you have agreed value on your car through your insurance so the ratio of repair to worth would be a whole lot different. Their insurance adjuster might say that your fixed vette is only worth $6000. They cut you a check and flat bed the car away.
Let you insurance company fix your car and let them go after the other guy. Thats why you pay them every year.
PS: nevermind if I didnt understand what you said.

So, the results are.....HELL YEAH!!!! The valued the car at 8600. and the buy back is gonna cost me 1300. Huh?! Yeah, that's right, I'm gonna have one bad 79. I already have a new 400horse engine, so once they add in the taxes and title transfer fees I will walk away with 8000. The insurance adjuster, Jeremy at Farmers in Seattle was bad ***. He really did me right-and it was the other guys insurance. Jeremy, you rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone have parts, cheap?
