Sold my C6 to get This Car -- (PICS)

That's one of the nicest colors. Beautiful condition. Growing up, I worked during the summer for an oil company. Drove forklift in warehouse and delivered cases of oil. The owner of the company always had nice cars and stored one or two in the back corner of the warehouse. One of the cars was a 74 Nova SS -- that became my first car. The other, was a 69' Riverside Gold (like yours). That was the first Vette that really made me want one and was likely the spark that made me recently finally get the Vette I always wanted. I did however go with another favorite color choice...
Nice car. Enjoy it. Rock on.

Best of luck. A big fan of the sharks myself. Actually what really endured me to the C6 is the character lines on the front fenders and rear haunches that are reminiscent of the C3. Forget resale and all that; drive it, show it, wrench it, enjoy it!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I do miss my C6 for a variety of reasons, but I still think I made the right decision. Of course the C6 was faster, more reliable, more comfortable, and handled better. The '69 however "feels" almost as fast because it has trouble putting what power it has to the ground, and there is more of a go-kart like driving experience with it. I honestly don't think I would want much more power in this car with its old school steering, suspension, and lack of active handling. It's so different, but still just as fun.
I want to also say that this forum and the way it is managed often frustrates me for several different reasons, and now I have another one. I posted the same thread in both C6 and C3 general forums. It is about both cars, and I wanted to see the different reactions of both groups of people. The mods, in there their infinite wisdom, have decided that BOTH identical threads should be in the C3 section and have moved this one here. I am sorry for what now seems like a double post. I didn't do it. How stupid.

That's a very nice 69! How about more info about it and pics of the engine and chassis. One thing for sure, more people will notice the C-3 than the C-6.
I see it has a Hurst shifter, a huge improvement over the stock shifter.
You'll get great info & help here. These guys know their stuff.
Good luck with it!

Congrats, great C3.
After getting my '68 the way I wanted it I quit driving my new Vette. While a great car, it felt was like driving a fast Cadillac in comparison and I ultimately sold it. I have Zero regrets, and have not looked back.

That was my experience with my 72 454 coupe. I love the removeable rear window feature and you could put that window in tray.
These are what Corvette is recognized as most noticeable. The driving experience is totally different than a new C-6. More of a hot rod, crude but fun. Won't be as comfortable on long distance hauls like a C-6 will. If I could I'd keep em both.

Nice car!!
My first vette was the red '68. Great car but definitely not for road trips We finally got to the point in life were the wife said go for the C6 so we picked up the 08. Fortunately I was able to keep the 68 as well. Did I mention I have a wonderful wife?
stic5 - I'm not far north of you, our daughter is at UK. We need to get together sometime and compare cars

Stic,
You done good, congrats!
1. Hood looks great, keep it!
2. You sure those T-Tops don't leak?
3. Love the Riverside Gold. Keep some gold handy for 15 mpg vs. 25 w C6.

While I really like the new Vettes and would be happy to have one, I have a long love for the C3 and older models. While it is easily obvious that the newer models are more refined...the nice thing about our cars is that, from 200 yards away, they cannot be mistaken for anything else.

Thanks again for all the kind words everyone. I drove it to work today and people can't get over it. I got a lot of nice comments on my C6 but nothing like this!
Hey Poppa Bud, let me know next time you're in Lex
