Default Fual Tank gage shows full

Hi All

My needle on the fual gage is stuck at 3 o'clock all the time. This happen all of a sudden. Anything I can look for what can I do to fix.
I have a 69 350 auto

Check the ground wire at the pickup (on the tank) it probably fell off

or the green sender wire fell off either one will send it to full.

Both wires at the tank are connected, I'll clean the contacts see if that helps, but from there where do the go?

Ground the sender wire , if the needle goes to empty your gauge and wiring are OK. Whats left is the tank sender and the 2 connections. Make sure the ground wire to the tank is in fact grounded.

You could also have [either] the ground wire or the signal wire with a 'fatigue' break in the wire internally (wire looks OK but broken inside the insulation). You will need to run a continuity test with an ohmmeter on each wire to determine if that is the case. Do the tests mentioned above first; if the gauge responds properly, then an internal break is not your problem. If the gauge does not respond as expected, get out the ohmmeter.
