Default 74 fiberglass sidepipe covers problem

I just installed my my fiberglass covers(Ecklers) and the paint is bubbling off due to the high temp. I probably should have used high temp paint but is this normal? Is there insulation I can use between the pipes and the cover? HELP!

Had the same problem when I dropped in the 502.

Try some exhaust wrap (I got mine from Jegs or Russell).

Wrap the pipes under the covers from front to back overlapping about one half the width of the tape, secure at start and finish with stainless steel thin screw clamps available from Home Depot in he HVAC section.

Three years running with no problems or bubbles.
