Default Started work on putting the car back together

Updated 7/17

First step was to wash it inside & out. Made a couple of minor adjustments on the drivers side door, installed the headlight doors & polished up the rims.

Update - didn't get much done last weekend, family obligations and all. Put a couple of pieces back on the car and cleaned up a few others for paint, mainly the tail lamp housings

Cleaned & greased up the door latch mechanisms

The weather looks like it will be more cooperative this weekend

Hi Jim,
Perhaps you might consider blacking out the astro-vent plenums?
Paint looks great in your pictures!!!

Nice touch Alan

BB, your paint looks great!

Now you have the dreaded door handles to deal with.

I was wondering the same thing...?

Also, I am curious what you used to clean the door mechanism? I have to replace my lock cyclinders since I have no keys and I should clean everything up too.

I use POR-15's marine clean to clean up all the greasy dirty stuff. It's a water based cleaner that works well.

The gas door is a custom billet aluminum door that was made and sold by a former member here - Big632. As far as I know he hasn't been around for a couple of years and no longer makes them.

Every once in a while one will come up for sale.

Alan - yes I'll black out the plenum next time I need to mix up some paint. Had to get something installed last weekend

After battling the heat july 4th weekend & a bout of pneumonia for a week & a half I finally made some more progress today. Been working on installing a layer of sound deadening. Decided on B-Quiet extreme, it goes in pretty easy & sticks really well. Tomorrow I'll pull the steering colum & I should be able to finish up under the dash.
