Haven't (yet) but you might want to look up redvetracr here on the CF. ...or perhaps he'll see this and join in.

I'm looking to run E-85, I have the alcohol carb, pump and regulator. I just purchased my first corvette with a bad motor and I would like to put a motor together with some compression. I'm thinking all I would need is the fuel cell and the fuel lines and the spare tire location looked to me the only place for around a 22 gal cell.

That would be a good project. There are a lot of people here that leave out the spare. Maybe if you fab some brackets, along with some kind of skid plate for protection, it'll work.

[QUOTE=TheSkunkWorks;1574467495]Funny. Before the OP posted up on his application I had assumed anyone interested in a fuel cell would almost certainly be tracking it. New one on me...[/QU
Was thinking the same thing also.....

I installed an ATL fuel cell because it is safer and has 10 gallons or so more capacity (which is helpful with a 565 that gets 6mpg). It also adds another 100 lbs or so over the rear tires. My car hooks up very nicely from a roll, even with 700 hp.
I also really enjoyed fabricating the bumper bar, brackets, and cage for the cell!

The instructions will tell you to mount the cell in a cage made of 1" box tube. I really enjoyed welding and fabricating the cage, brackets, and bumper bar. Again, this may not work for you since you have a 77 body...
The SP126B is more of a square shape, and is taller than most other cells. I ordered it with a 45 degree offset filler neck and turned the neck 30degrees. The filler neck is positioned perfectly in the stock filler door opening!
The only complaint I have about this fuel cell (other than the cost) is that it takes a long time to fill. I have to pump the gas very slowly as the neck is very short and the fuel splatters out and shuts off the pump.
In summary, I wouldn't recommend this mod unless you are comfortable with some fabrication and welding. And it will cost probably around $1000 more than a reproduction tank. If you'd like, I can send pics of my installation. PM me if you want them. I didn't renew my .Mac subscription, so my website no longer works.

I have one you can buy pretty cheap. It doesn't have the bladder in there,so had to pull it,and install new cell in the roundie round car to be within the rules,so this is extra, and collecting dust.
One thing about these....they hang down pretty good, and wouldn't want that hanging below the back of my car. These cars are plastic, and not even a hard collison would scare me with it hanging low.
I was going to use it in my 68 with the new motor, but .....it's collecting dust too!
If you are interested, then pm me.Ask about the non-bladder tank to redvetracer,or the SkunkWorks. They both are real road racers, and knopw their way around all these mods.

Thank you all for the replies. I will buy a new fuelcell when I get to the back of the car and open it up to see what size I can fit. Right now I'm still in the front working on the poly bushing replacements.
