Bats
Remember - "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?"
Well in this case - How many accelerations does it take to wear through that fuel line, spilling fuel into the intake and setting the car on fire?
Pretty ugly stuff....

Is that the best Bubba could do? I'm surprised he didn't use a really long spring that reached the hose clamp at the radiator!

It does provide for multiple adustment points (on the hose clamp) for the pressure on the throttle return.

Gotta love those zip ties. They're getting almost as popular as duct tape. BTW, I don't see any duct tape.

Is this your new 383?

If so, just fix it and move on.

Hmm..how to fix your throttle with a hose clamp, too long a spring and a tie-wrap.

There is a dash of bubba under the hood of my vette too, I have a early 52mm t-body on my LT1 induction, set on my L98 engine....L98 HEI dizzy and all....it was a massive plumbing job to say the least with remote t-stat housing and all....

but the only thing bubba over it, was the bracket we made for the accelerator cable and cruise control, has a bit too easy a pull off, hard at the start, then really easy ....so a paper clip bent to length, and a old carb type return spring set so it's not engaged for the first ~1/4 inch of opening radius....then it snuggs up to make the pedal heavier to the feel....

Have not bothered to 'fix' it for some time now....only been 3 years....

If that came from the shop that just built you a new engine I wonder how the rest came out? That is a pretty chickensh!t setup.

Looks like a stock carb off an old ford truck, not near big enough for a 383.
Saw your other thread and wonder if this guy even knows what it takes to
make a 383. Did you check the damper and flywheel to make sure they are
balanced for the 400 crank? I don't trust him at all... good luck.

Guys I posted this before the shop had called back...just imagine how silly I would have felt if all you guys thought this was a nice well done set up,

So I posted the "full" version here,

I just wanted to include my thoughts before I read through the other thread.

The 1st thing that came to mind was a reason NOT to drive the car.
The 2nd thing was a reason not to open the hood.
