Rear Speakers in a '79 (or in yours)
I would like to upgrade the radio and speakers in my '79. Starting wtih the speakers, I've tried replacing the stock rear 6x9's with upgraded speakers, and can't find any that fit in the same space. And I don't want to just replace the thirty year old speakers with new underpowered ones. What have you used? Upgraded speakers, or prefab enclosures with speakers mounted? // Any suggestions or thoughts on using a new bezel with CD/radio/IPOD, or using the smaller ones (no CD, but IPOD and USB jacks). Thanks - -

Here's the speakers in the rear of my 79. I built the enclosure out of plywood to fit behind the wheel wells which hold it in place. I covered it with black foam backed headliner material. The sound is awesome.
