I love the Gold and the Black but don't like the way it was blended at the doors. Is it staying that way? It would look much much better if you left it gold with the black center stripe. But that's just my opinion and you know how that goes..LOL.. Or maybe black with gold stripe....

The gold and black look great, but like csradley I'm not very fond of the blend on the doors. But is is still in the booth and paint jobs often look better when they are complete, so I can't wait until its finished!!

But regardless of what I think it looks much cleaner than mine, maybe one day my C3 with be nice and shiney too!!

That gold is HOT! My opinion on the blend would have been to feather/fade it into the black, but I'll reserve judgement until it's finished and we can see the whole car. Looks great so far...good luck.

Colors are great, I think a feather fade would look nicer as well, IMO the cut from gold to black is just too hard. But nice color combo.

Best of both worlds, clean smooth cool look of black and eye popping gold up front. I like old black vettes and gold vettes. Looks great but am I missing something... You hiding the head lights some where else? lol

Thanks all for the comments. I still am up in the air on the sides as well, I wanted more of a scoop on the lower half as seen in the masking I did before dropping the car off:

Its unfortunate that things are sometimes lost in translation, but I'm happy to see it almost to the point where I can start reassembling

Ironman the lights will now be located behind the front grills, I alway loved the way you could see the 68-69 lights peaking from behind when down.

Hi,
The colors look great together.
The scheme reminded me of a Bugatti Veyron!
Regards,
Alan

Alan thats where I got the idea from! If you see my maksing tape, I had the hood much more tapered than what the painter masked it off as. Thought the Bugatti Veyron paint scheme would look great on a C3, mine will be similar

It looks awsome. I like the unusual paint detail on the doors. I might get tired of it eventually, but for now it looks great.

know what if thats what you wanted and he f'd it up I would make them shoot it again. I am sure that is costing a pretty penny not to have the way you wanted it

I would have the painter re-do the black area. What you got is not what you layed out. Did he discuss this with you and tell you he wanted to make a change?

No he didn't mention changing it, he said he could still see where I masked it off and could follow what I had laid down. The curve on the door looks symetrical versus asymetrical as I was going for, and the hood taper is much less than I intended.

The problem is this is at local car dealership that the guy's boss allowed my car to be shot at for a really good price, for masking, 2 tone paint with top coat and buffing. It was slipped in during a slow spot for them. I supplied all the material and did all the prep work except obviously the final wash before painting. So at this point I'm going to wait and see how the final product looks

I think the lines you laid out look clean and flowing, a good look to it. The painters lines don't flow quite as well. Not to be a downer, the cars still looks hot- congrats!
