A co worker passed this to me from Craigslist.
It might be a deal, but I'd like some expert advice.

Tell me what you think.

If you have the money to buy it and then remove all of that extra mess, go right ahead. That vette is in serious need of help, you can call yourself a hero once you get that thing looking like new.

Almost every cruise or show has cars like this which are the pride and joy of the owners and most times the owners are really nice folks so bashing such cars to me is akin to shooting a fellow in a wheelchair but since it's on a lot....
While the diamond plate does give it that tacky redneck, hillbilly no trailer park can hold me look, Lets leave all the double sided tape geegaws, scoops and ducts to the c5/c6 fellows.....

if i didn't already have an 80 , that i really have enjoyed the last 3 years, i would simpy get rid of the scoop on the rear deck & paint it a solid candy-apple red & enjoy the machine.
i like the wheels, sidepipes & glass-tops & motor...
i might limo-tint the windows & remove all the interior lights tho...lol

If you like the car to look at (and each to their own) then offer him $5k, at the end of the day you still have an L82 1980 car that looks complete and in fair condition, remove the 50lbs of diamond plate and you may get better than 10mpg from her too.
I like the last photo, says it all through the glass tops, "Pre owned", yep, sure is.
If ya got the money, you like the look of it and it runs half good then go for it, remember though, no car looks as good in person as it does in a photo.
Cheers, Dennis.

Melting Slicks
What I see.....
what dealership would take that custom a car in on trade is beyond me BUT since they did..................................... .. LOWBALL EM - unless 'Huggy Bear' comes slinking onto their lot, that ain't gonna sell in the timeframe they need it to.
I see an 80' L82 with the Ecklers Collectors Edition body kit. Ditch the diamond plate crap, swap an original or aftermarket hood back on, and repaint. Scour the C3 FS section for used interior parts to put that ugly mess out of our misery. Paint/dye the plastic stuff.
Go take a look, drive it, offer them $3500-4k CASH
I bet you'll take it home...................

Jesus...I had no idea that there was so much stick-on, peel-off, puke-on crappola available for that car.
Finally a Corvette more offensive than the one in Corvette Summer. Remember that horrible thing??
I'm actually a bit surprised that they don't want 20 grand for it.
I would offer them $4,000, (which they won't take), rent a dumpster, tear it apart and see what's left when you're done.
