Here's what started it all for the C3, this is to cool, to bad this concept
never made it to production as shown here. I've seen and read about
this car, but I have never seen this video footage before.

Wow, what a great design, you can really see where the stingray name comes from. Although neat, I can't imagine trying to diagnose a problem when one of those gadgets fail I'm having hard enough time making my headlights go up and down. And can you imagine the miles of vaccum lines!!! I wonder if that stuff was electric.

Thanks for posting the links. I've never seen that before. I'm still digesting all the giz wig gadgets. Needless to say I saved the links. I know a few people that will get a kick out of it.

I like the way the corner lights hide after use, and how the rear spoilers pop up open. The louvers are also nice. I agree that all those vacuum operated accessories would be a PITA down the road, but those features are pretty cool.

I wonder where they all went. It looks like a few were built. Does anyone know what happened to them? Are any around today?

Very cool video, that Shark looks closer to the 1978~1982 C3 then the earlier ones. The 1981 C3 has corner lights that come on to illuminate the corner when turning!

The Mako Shark II is still around (kinda). The GM Styling department made a few inprovemenst to it a couple to a few years later. One improvement was a longer rear body section. The Mako Shark II was now called the Manta Ray.

Lotta cool gadgetry for the time. Can only imagine pulling up to a gas station and the vacuum operated gas cap doesn't open, like when my headlights wouldn't go up, or down for that matter
