The car has had some minor touch-ups here and there and was polished before I got it, a little too agressively in some spots. I would say it has about 75% original acrylic lacquer, very little cracking or checking. When I bought the car, I received with it a pint can of Inmont R-M Alpha-Cryl acrylic lacquer (with lead) that was used on the touch-ups. I was told this stuff is worth it's weight in gold.

Both of my '71's are original paint cars, some lacquer crazing; never been touched up.

Mine is original Elkhart Green but it's past due for a repaint.
The last owner when nuts with touch up paint that didn't match. I have also replaced the front bumper and done some other minor bodywork.

Nope. My 80 was originally white...which someone changed to maroon...then it was recently painted silver. My car will NEVER be a NCRS show winner...but then again that's not my thing. I can customize to my heart's content, not worrying about screwing up something that someone screwed up a looooong time ago!

I used to own this 72. It still had a lot of it's original paint left on it. Look at the rear door jamb pic. The paint is worn down to the fiberglass from the door opening and closing. No docs.

Not by a longshot. Mine is is on it's 3rd paint job (the first being the factory paint) as far as I could tell when I stripped it for it's current paint.

we used to have a 71 with T tops in (Sea Aqua poly I'm guessing, since it was real close to the Elkhart color)
