20 years old. It was a 71 well optioned coupe with the 350 base engine and automatic transmission. A great car but at the time, wished it had a 454 with a 4-speed. I turned 50 this year and bought a birthday present to me. A 71 LS5 coupe with a 4 speed. Same color (red) as my first Corvette, even has a luggage rack just like my old 71.

I was 21- bought a very used and abused 1959- kept it 2 years until Uncle Sam sent me overseas in 1969- did not buy another Corvette until I was in my 50's-

At 24, I ordered a new 1972 war bonnet yellow coupe in February of 72 from Koepp Chevrolet- La Vernia, Texas (22 miles east of San Antonio,Texas)
It was delivered in April of 1972. Cost me a total of $5,714.00. I sold it when my 2nd child was born in 78.
My friend, Ray, had just taken delivery of a 1972 LT1 and to this day has the same car w/o any mods. It has 62,000 original miles.

How is it that Ray is so much wiser than us!

I was 17 when my mom bought home my pride and joy for my sister. We had a family friend in the new car business. Ours was owned by a preacher and it was repo'd with 14k on the clock. It was and is in original condition. It stayed in the family for a while and then I acquired it. It's been in the family for 35 years. Bought my next one a 1987, nice but not the same feeling. Still loving my 73. I keep thinking I want a new one but I can't pull the trigger.

27: I've wanted one since elementary school. A relative worked for Ford so when I got to driving age, my parents got me Explorers. I totalled a few. After the first 2 accidents (not my fault), I pushed to get one with the insurance money, but I was under the parents insurance that that was a NO. Good things come to people that wait right?

Wow seems like the 20's is a trend.
I got mine when I was 19, after my Z28 got smashed.
Cost me 5000 straight up and had registration expired for like 4 years. Then the cam went flat like a month or so after I got it...
