Default All Corvette show 8/23

There was an all Corvette show here on Sunday that had over 200 cars. Mostly the usual C5 and C6, but there were a lot of C3s there as well...I'd guess there were 30-40 C3s there.

A new ZR-1 won "Best of Show" for some reason. Maybe an award for who can write a big check. There were many cars more deserving.

Here are some of the C3s and a Grand Sport that I've heard is #3, but I'm not so sure.

GS #3?

The rest of the photos are here Link. I took around 350 pictures, but only 200 went up at the link. I see I am missing a couple of nice 1969s, so I'll add the rest to the link later tonight. Not real pleased with the photos, turns out I had the camera set two stops down and didn't even notice until I moved the pictures.

Thanks for posting the photos, Frogday, which one is yours?. That would be something if that was the real Grand Sport #3, I think that it would be worth millions of dollars.

I had my red 1971 there, but I have so many pictures of my own car that I pass it by when I am walking around with the camera.

I would have taken a lot more pictures of that GS had I suspected it was the real deal, but I just thought it was another tribute and only got a few shots of it. I never even went to look inside...not that I'd be able to tell a real one from a fake anway unless it was pretty obvious.

This is the big end of the Summer event around here, so it was very crowded after noon when spectators started showing up.

It is held at an old drive-in restaurant called XXX (Triple X) that is literally packed with old automobile memorabilia on every square inch of the walls inside. They have a car show of some sort every Saturday and Sunday throughout the Summer. The parking lot holds around 200 cars, and then they start to fill up another across the street with maybe 100 more.

Added the rest of the photos to the link - 331 of them there now.
A few more of the C3s at the show.

Nice pics! I see you included the maroon '68, that happens to be my car. I was parked next to an acquaintance of mine who owns the '70 ZR-1 coupe that is in this months Corvette Fever. A really rare car. Also, the blue '69 sidepipe car is a 427-435 NCRS top flight car. There were some very nice C1 thru C3's but the show was dominated by the C5/C6 cars. I took some pics and I'll try to post them in a couple of days.

If a "NEW" ZR1 took best in show at any show here there would be a lot of boooing & certainly less attendees at their next show..........

THATS JUST PLAIN STUPID !!! I would have been pissed after detailing my car all day, vs a car that just came off the showroom floor...... * WOW * / it must have had the original window sticker * bill of sale * warranty book * & brouchure ?

There is nothing "SPECIAL" about a "NEW" car at a car show !!!

IT SEEMS LIKE THERE WERE PLENTY OF OTHER MORE DESERVING CHOICES THERE !!!

Thanks for taking the time to post the nice photos !!!
