$$$ / mile ?
I was motivating down I-75 last Friday and noticed that my right turn indicator bulb wasn't working. I also noticed that I have racked up @ 20K since my original purchase of my 79, I got thinking of about how many dollars per mile I have in my ride.
At about 20,000 miles in under 5 years, I've got about 75 cents per mile

I would have to add all the receipts to come up with a ball park number. It would be much easier to come up with a $$$/year for me.

Actually, you are still lower than me. I paid over $40K, and have only driven about 600 miles so far. Last time I calculated it, it was around $80/mile, and hasn't changed much since the car has been laid up the last 3 weeks again. I am also sure I have spent at least 3x as many hours working on it as I have spent driving it. Hopefully, when I get this carburetor thing straightened out, I will get to some regular driving and the per mile cost in $ and hours will plummet.

you guys are right.. I am about 36$/Mile.. it will not drop much since I don't drive that much.. it would be 50$ per mile if I paid a shop to do all my fixes and upgrades... taking into account all the hours I put into it...
of course since my car is not depreciating and hopefully I wll get most of my investment back, when and if I sell, my cost per mile will drop to close to zero.

So much higher than $1 per mile I don't even want to know. I guess I don't want to know about hours per mile either.
STILL BIG FUN!!!!

Some where around $40k all in, over 60,000 miles in 16 years and counting. Good investment.

Paid $4500.00 for my 66 and drove it everyday for many years putting on just shy of 60K. Other than a set of tires I put almost no money in the car but couldn't say no when I was offered $27000 for the car. Talk about a good investment sure wish I could do that again. Owned the car for 20 plus years.
