Where to find fiber optics?
Im working on a 69 and the fiber optics had been painted over with primer. Im looking to find a new set for both the front and the rear.

I don't understand why you need new? Most likely what is painted is the lenses in the light housings. All you need to do is remove the paint and polish the lenses up a bit and they should be fine. The fiber optic light pipes plug into the lenses as I recall, the the optic lines themselves should be fine.

most of the time the fiber cable will stick out a fraction of an inch past the brass ferrel crimped around it. As suggested above, try some 1200 or 2000 wet/dry sand paper and polish the ends to remove the primer. You can also try using a new razor blade and and trim the cable end flush with the ferrel. If the cables are not cut or broken between the light and the console, you should get light transfer after one of the above methods.

The fiber cable only needs to be free of paint/debris/crud on the ends of the cable. Light goes in...light comes out. Make certain that the lenses are clean/clear and that the lens/cable is aimed at the bulb. If you want to clean paint off the outside of the cable, have at it. If not much light is showing up on the console panel, check inside the panel to see if the fiber cables are connected properly at that point. Sometimes they come loose or pull out from normal position.
You can test the cable by removing the lens and shining a flashlight directly into the end of the cable. If the panel indicator doesn't light, your problem is at the 'inside' end of the cable or the cable is broken somewhere.
