Default 76 Hit

I was parked at the gas station and a giant ugly rv swiped the left front fender. It cut through the fiberglass but didn't get into the rubber nose.

Its fixable. Is it a blend the paint kind of repair or a new paint job ?

Does anyone have any experiance with JC Taylor Insurance ?

Yikes ! I couldn't beleive it was happening Im gonna go throw up now.

I was 'tapped' at a red light 2 years ago. When he hit me from the rear, the rear fenders came forward and hit the doors , which chipped. The doors then moved forward and chipped the front fenders. Everything sprung back and it wasn't even all that bad, but the bodyshop could not blend in the right color. I sucked it up and threw in some extra $, and had the entire car stripped and completely repainted. Maybe some body guys will disagree , but I'm guessing its a whole new paint job.

If you still have original paint like me you're screwed. I've talked to alot of body guys who've said it's impossible to match the factory lacquer good enough that you can't tell. But if it's been repainted with modern stuff they should be able to match it up.....

I'd be in jail right now if this happend to my '76..........

Dont let the insurance co wear you down. Insist on fixing it right at a shop that knows corvettes.
Good luck.

You know, this has been a bad week for forum members with '76s. jn76vette was looking for a good body shop in the Omaha/Lincoln area after a woman hit his on tuesday...

Somehow I've gone 33+ years without a scratch. Sure hope I can keep this run going. Good luck Localbulldog. Keep us informed......

Don't get pushed around by the insurance company. Consult an attorney if you really feel like they are strong arming you. I had to when I was T-boned in my Mustang back in high school. It was well worth the $.
