Default Gray Corvettes... look awsome..

i thought i wanted to keep my car red, but the more i look the more i want to paint it gray (when the time comes... not any time soon!)
i was pretty set on putting flares on the car, but recently i decided not to.. since they were just soo huge!.. im debating whether or not to flare the car, and if i do im debating if i will make my own 'mild flare' or just get the off the shelf from 2ndgen restos.. god i hate it when i day dream like this!! so hard to chose...

awsome flared 69..

btw, the gray zr1 is responsible for my plumit into gray madness..

My old hussie '72 vert is now gray, light primer, lost it's burgundy and other paints....it was about 25 years on that urethane...time for a update...

not that any photos of a gray primer vette look much different from any OTHER gray primer vette....

The photo above looks like a 'graphite' color...nice. Graphite, pewter, Steel Cities Gray, dark silver all look good on a C3.

Steel Cities Gray is the best Vette color in my opinion. I'm trying to talk my wife into painting ours that color but she says it won't look good with the medium saddle interior.

correct me if I am wrong, but I only see gray in a c3 for 70,71,72 and 74 about 8-9% a year reading stats from the registries and the black book... A nice and rare color indeed.. here is Laguna Gray for my '70

Default grey

I agree with jeffrey73 . When I bought my yellow car I was looking at a 72 steel cities grey car at Contes , just beautiful , but auto .

I have a Steel Cities Gray 1971. I like the looks of the Laguna Gray too.

How about a nice two tone silver over charcoal from the 80's. Man my car looked good on this day

I completely agree - the metalic colors look the best on the C-3s - much coolerand more refined than your typical red (i.m.o). There is a smokey gunmetal gray paint color out there that I unfortunatley don't know the exact name/code of but have seen it on only a few stock Mustang Cobras produced in the early 2000s time frame. I know it's a Ford color but it's the coolest gray I've ever seen on a car by far and has always remained in my mind. I'm going to paint my '68 Camaro this color on the next go round. If your looking for an awesome Gray it's worth checking into.

How about some light gray, and some dark gray? OK, it's silver.

My '74 is black and I often think that the "new" dark silver/gray colors would look great on it if I ever get around to painting again. I think I have posted my opinion several times recently, but would love to see a C3 painted with some of the following:

1. Infiniti "Liquid Platinum" (G37 and FX35/45 color)
2. Corvette "Cyber Grey"
3. Lexus "Smoky Granite Mica" or "Glacier Frost Mica" (IS 250/350 colors)

Audi, Volkswagon and Mini all have nice silver/grey colors as well. I have thought that the Lamborghini/Audi "battleship grey" with black wheels would look cool too.
