Age of vette owners
just a stupid kinda curious thread. how old are you now and or when you got your first vette???? i just turned 24 so i got mine when i was 23 and i wanted one since i was in eighth grade and actually worked two summers doing roofing at 12y.o to save and buy one. of course that was when i was young and thought that anything actually was possible and that you could have anything that you wanted if you worked hard, then i graduated and found out theres so much more that caps what you can really do in life, anyway glad i got it and remember how it felt the first day i went and the owner began to pull the cover off and i could see the dusty rear fender curve. i was like a little kid who just got a new dart gun

I'm 44 got my first vette (and only one) when I was 42.
I've always wanted one, and finally had the chance to get one, so I did.

Bought my first Corvette when I was 23, it was a 70 BB. I am 58 now and have had a handful of Corvettes over the years, mostly 1970 models. Just picked up a 68 conv. project, so that is what I have now.

43 and just got my first, a 71BB, got it in pieces so I dont even know what its like yet. I have always had old hot rods but always thought Vettes were too far out of my reach. That was when I was buying $1500 GTO's and even a $250 mach I mustang.. those were the days, now I gave 8 grand for a project car.. cant wait to pull it out of the garage!

I was 18 when I bought my '76 new. Now I'm 51......
Like you I started saving at 12. That's when I got a ride in the back of a '63 Split-Window Coupe that was life changing. Delivering papers in the rain, pumping gas in the snow, it was all worth it. I had $3k in the bank and the trust of my Dad who got me a loan for the $5k I was short & I ordered my baby in Jan '76. And I still have her.....
So yeah.......Anything is possible........

I was 17 in 1985 and picked my 68, which I still have...........joined the Marines, College, Job...... wife, kids..............yea, then bought another one last year, a 69 Coupe for my son (he's 4) and I to restore. I'm pushing 41 now ( as we say, I'm now on the "back 9") and still have Vette Fever!! Still love my 68 though, 23 yrs and still gives me chills!
Stay safe, John

I'm 56 years young now. I bought my first corvette almost 20 years ago at the age of 36. Last year I bought my second and third corvettes to restore and squirrel away for the grandkids. Ain't life grand!

Got my 88 in Sept 2001 and I was 39 then.....few months before my 40th burthday and my wife was expecting our 3rd child. Few years later the 71 joined our family in March of 2005 at age 43. 47 now and still have both of them!! My daughter prefers the C3 over the C4 at age 7.

Im 18, my 80 became officially mine in February. My family got it about 5 years ago, and ive been working on it since i was 13. I needed a car and was looking into a few different cars, when my dad saw this as an opportunity to pass the 80 to me and pick up a 70 for himself.
