Default How to Remove Shifter **** on 76

I'm removing my center console (where the controls for the air, and where the shifter is) and I have almost gotten it off, but I can not get the black **** off of the shifter. Does it just screw off? if so it is stuck on there really good and I cant get it off.
Thanks

If it's a manual transmission, then yes, it just screws off.

If it's an automatic, I’m not really sure.

You have to screw off the push button first. I took a pair of plyers and wrapped the push button with a cloth and it came right off..

Yea, I took push button off. It came off easily....Should the ball now just screw off or is there some type of pin holding it on that I just can't see?

I'm putting it back. I had to take out the center console, and i could not get it out without taking off the ****. You can also order a new stock one, that usually makes a world of difference.

Does the push button also just screw off and it has to come off first

Remove chrome release button (turn CCW); then remove black shifter **** (turn CCW).
