G'day,
I saw a recent thread regarding the resolution of a Forum sale that appeared to have gone sour, but money had been returned. I just want to say that I recently had a very successful deal with another Forum member in upstate New York. A week before Christmas I sent a bank cheque to NY, and it arrived on Christmas Eve. The seller posted the goods on Boxing Day, and they arrived in Melbourne, Australia a week later in excellent condition.
Congratulations to both Australia Post and the U. S. Postal Service, as well as the vendor for prompt and honest service.
As a footnote, a friend of mine in Melbourne purchased items for both himself and me from the vendor mentioned in the previous thread, and they arrived in Melbourne shortly after, exactly as promised. I would like to state that I would be happy to purchase from him again.
