Default '72 vacuum hose connector

There is a three way plastic vacuum hose connector that lives under the passenger side hood bumper near the firewall. The connector is about 1/4 inch wide on each end and in the middle is another which is only about 1/16 inch wide to connect a smaller tube.
I broke the connector and can't fix it. I have looked through all the suppliers and parts people but can't seem to find it listed.
Can someone help please.

I had the same problem and could not find a replacement. I took a small bolt and forced it in the end of the small hose to stretch the hose, made the end big enough to fit on the normal 3 way "T". It was a tight fit to get the hose on but it has worked for over 2 years

Hi Chris,
How are things around the other side of the world?
Although it's for an A/C car, Dr.Rebuild has a tee that I believe will work. 2 large nipples and 1 very small nipple. Check out part #2771222.
Regards,
Alan

PS: The 1/8 " line is the vacuum supply to the heater controller located in the shifter console.

Sometimes you can find the different sized vacuum T-connectors in the HELP section at your local auto part store.

Thanks guys for your help. Not sure what vacuum system it operates as everything appears to be normal. It's such a small insignificant part no wonder it can't be purchased.
Yes I may be able to adapt something if the Dr Rebuild part won't fit.
Things are good down here in Tasmania Alan. The weather is finally warming up and I have had some very enjoyable trout fishing trips to the central highlands lakes of late.
Time to do a bit on the Vette now as there is a vintage rally coming up in January and some other shows.

Best regards for Xmas and New Year to all,
Chris

Have had problems locating that also. The one at Docs the smaller nipple is in wrong area.
i have a number from 72 aim manual. upc 1, sheet M3
3929022
horizontal part of tee runs to steel tubing across firewall, yellow hose, , tee goes about 4 in. from where steel tubing ends
and the smaller part of t, we'll call vertical part of tee, runs into firewall to a/c, heater control wheel.
I've also checked the local auto parts stores in help packs. no luck.
I ended up putting it together and melting plastic over it to hold. temp fix

Chris,

There is a real good chance I may have an original one here. I can't look until Monday but email me at willcoxcustomerservice@Willcoxcorvette.c om I have a bunch of original heater control hose kits, I'd bet one of them will have this T still on it.

If you have a T that would be really good. I have just placed an order with you for a complete carpet set and other items.

Chris

Now days you never know how the customers call. We have one that calls on his computer phone and its free.

I'm out of town right now, but I should arrive back Monday around noon. I look and see what I have and yes, post a picture of it. Maybe I'll try to find a supply of them, or something close. I have an aftermarket catalog that I think has these in different sizes too.

Is that the "T" that fits in the yellow headlight vacuum hose? It also supplies the heat & A/C vacuum to the selector? If so, I just got one of those "T's" in a heat & A/C hose kit. Somebody has to have them, somewhere.

This is what is sold by the venders. I made a crude attempt to show how the original looks with the smaller nipple as the leg of the "tee". My 70 is also black.

Thanks for posting photos Dennis, yes the bottom photo is the style on my 72. I'm sure its the one Chris is talking about. Ones I've seen in kits is like the top. I've looked at this tee every yr at NCRS florida regional every Jan. and no luck. will try again this yr if Willcox has no luck.

The bottom T looks very similar. Mine is black plasrtic and I looked at another car when I was in Melbourne and it is also black. I'm at work so can't post a photo at the moment but the bottom photo looks like it.
I thought about fittings on garden microjet spray systems or aquarium equipment but they don't suit.

That Tee goes to heater controls for Astro Ventalation and heater box blender door diaphrams and is a VERY HARD part to source. Good luck in the search. I searched for weeks to find one for my 70 LT-1 and then after buying one I found another in a junk box I had laying around (It never fails to happen.)

Can I ask where you bought the T from. I think other members are interested also. I live in Tasmania, Australia so it's not a store just around the corner.

Regards,
Chris
