[Video] 1st drive - 565 '73 Vette
I've finally got my '73 Vette drivable, after 6 long years of working on this project. The latest version has a 565 cid big block Chevy which dyno'd at 714hp and 699 lb-ft of torque! It's a completely ridiculous monster motor!
I was a little bone-headed in the 1st video - the door flew open LOL. I'm very conservative with my driving, obviously because I don't have a tag yet, I'm driving in a neighborhood, I don't know how to drive this car yet, and the suspension is not aligned in the least.
It isn't obvious in the video, but with just a blip of 60% throttle, this thing is VIOLENT! All the loose stuff in the car went flying, including my gauge panel LOL. To really appreciate these videos, a decent sound card and speakers will help. Without these, it will be rather boring...
Here are the specs for the motor:
Built by Lance Andrews of L.A. Racing Engines
565 CID 4.6" bore 4.25" stroke
Dart Big M block, Scat Crankshaft and H-beam rods
JE Flat Top Pistons - 10:1 CR, Total Seal rings
Brodix BB2-Extra heads, mildly ported by Champion Racing Heads in Palm Coast, FL
Custom Mechanical Cam: 260/268, .697/.681 Lift, lobe sep. 112, int. c/l 108, valve lash .022/.022
Jesel Sportsman Shaft Rocker system - 1.7
Edelbrock Super Victor, port matched
Pro Systems custom Dominator - 1130cfm
Stahl Sidepipe headers, 2.125" primary, 4" collector
Timing locked in at 36 degrees (at least for now - we may put the mech adv back in the distributor based on how she runs on the street)

Thanks guys! I will post videos of shifting as soon as she is street legal. I have to get the brake lights and turn signals working, and I need to get the tag.
The interior is still a mess, so I'm going to work ok that next.

They're ok with it as long as I don't go blasting around with it at night. I've been checking with them every time I run it to make sure it isn't too loud. If it becomes a problem, I'll cap the baffles again.
The college kids across the street have been attracting all the animosity lately, what with them throwing beer cans on neighboring roofs...
