I think all the above are awsome songs. Any song I hear while driving in my vette is the best cause she makes me feel like the outta this world! and born to be wild!

Don’t forget Nelson Riddle's Route 66 instrumental, as Tod Stiles and Buz Murdock cruise down old Route 66 in their 59 Corvette, getting in all kinds of situations.

Great thread...it'll help when I'm loading up the "Vette Songs" playlist on the iPod.
It may not be in the spirit of the best "CAR" song but these are great driving songs. Unless I missed them, I can't believe no one mentioned:
FRANKENSTEIN: Edgar Winter (my 13 yo son and I rolled into a cruise last summer with this absolutely cranking...a grand entrance for sure...)
Spacetruckin'!: The other amazing Deep Purple Driving song, just try to drive slowly.
Other honorable mentions:
RUSH: Any powerchord blaster from the first album up through Moving Pictures (Zanadu and Cygnus X-1 from "A Farewell to Kings" are crazy good in the Vette).
Machine Messiah: From Yes' Drama album. Blast off!
On the other end of the spectrum there is a great song off of a Live Pat Metheny album called "Are you going my Way?"...starts slow and builds to a fever pitch. If you're doing 35 when it starts it'll escalate to 75 before it's over...
Fun...

I am partial to "Little Red Corvette" for obvious reasons.
But being old school.....nothing better than that little old band from Texas.
ZZ Top "Tush", "Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers" or "Just Got Paid"
