Default time to paint.....need some opinions on color

I recently purchased a 70 coupe from the original owner, complete with protecto plate, original bill of sale, cancelled check, tank sticker and all.
68,000 miles. Here is my dilema....I'm going through the car now and it needs paint. Original color was.....Donnybrook Green it's red now with lt saddle leather ! I can't bring myself to paint it green again....I need some votes of confidence from future buyers out there ! stick with green or go with another color. I own a crystal red 2008 and thought it would be nice to have the 70 the same color but ????

I prefer to keep them as original as possible and you know what my color preference is but it really boils down to what YOU want.
Matching pair would look pretty sweet in the garage.

Donnybrook green and saddle leather is a great color combo, there is a forum member who has one and I hope he posts a picture of his when he reads this post.Ultimitely its your car and you can do what makes you happy, but if it were me, I'd go back to the original color

I saw one once that was a Steel Cities Grey and thought it to be very attractive.

the simple matter is if you paint it the correct color, then you will have more buyers that will look at it when it is time to sell... A significant subset of the corvette buyers out there will not look at a car that is the wrong color...

While green isn't my favorite color, I think having a second-owner car with all that documentation and then making a $10k mistake on the paint is not wise. And, if you are really interested in future buyers, it makes it even more of a no-brainer.

If the green makes you unhappy, sell the car and buy something you can live with.

I am really thinking about this same issue on my 73. It was originally Metallic Yellow, but was changed to Milie Miglia red a while back. I am in the process of repainting the car, and didn't want to have to go through another color change to go back original. I really like the Red, but it might sell for more if it is the original color.

BUT, Red really pops, and I think it will sell faster than "Gold".

I guess it matters if you are thinking about selling the car, or making it what you want and driving it.

Matchbox has cars that change color when wet. Don't know about on a vette, but drive to work with a red car, it rains, drive home in a blue car.

no question about it..........go with the original green, this is a great combo with the light interior, plus a nice original car like this with all of the documents will be much more valuable if you go back to the original color. JMO

He's just looking for opinions...not for someone to tell him how to do it. Just an outside vantage point.

Default Green

Go Green! You will not regret it. My 72 Elkhart gets so many compliments - you'd be surprised how many people like it!

If it was a mutt car, I would paint it whatever. It would be a shame to mess it up on your watch.
