Default What have you done to fix the rattles in your car??

Aside from the normal dynamat stuff, what areas in your car did you have to attack because of squeaking / rattling / noise?

I'm just wondering if anyone has been able to get their C3 as quiet as a new Cadillac.....or is it even possible?

Thanks

I've never heard of a quiet C3. These things tend to make noises when they're parked!

Rebuilt the side window tracks, rollers and felt pads. Added sidepipes on one and magnaflow 40 mufflers & headers on the other, all the rattles are gone now.

Squeaks and rattles drive me up a wall, yes you can get the car pretty quiet but its 1 at a time depending on whats making the noise.
(years ago I used to be a squeak and rattle eliminator for a Caddy dealership...what a great jobwish I had it today)

I appreciate all the comments guys, I think this winter when I'm off I may go ahead and start chasing the noise.

I have a set of flowmasters and a aftermarket stereo too but that doesn't fix the squeaking and rattling.

Nothing personal to anyone, I was looking for some more serious answers to making our old cars feel more solid, if it can be done

I just upgraded my exhaust so I couldn't hear the rattles.

New weatherstrip all around, took the T-Tops apart and cleaned up 30 years of dust and junk, and my one "bubba" move, I coated the little arm thing in the power windows with latex so it didn't rattle anymore because I didn't feel like taking apart a perfectly functional track for one little noise.

No rattles, squeeks, thumps or peeps. I'm pretty **** with the Vette. My business cargo van with all the tools and crap in the back drives me nuts. When I get in the Vette I don't want to hear any of that. Goodyear tires make most of the noise and I can't do much about that.

I don't have rattles but I rebuilt the whole car. Most of the squeeks were just tightening things that were loose. I hated the way the car sounds when you close a vette door. I remved everything, cleaned, lubed and installed new anti rattle clips. I found old grease that was like a rock. When finished no more rattles and windows are quick and quiet. Replaced all weather strip with the expensive stuff. no air or water leaks and windows go all the way up. you don't have to open door and hit the window switch and then close the door. Make sure dask clips are tight ad battery and storage compartments are tight but make sure doors move freely. Make sure rear speakers have all screws tight and nothing is craked. Adjust T-tops so they fit tight but not so tight. They need to have a liitle play in them.

Just some tips I learned
