What is the value of an 82 Collector Edition??
I know times are tough and we are bailing out banks, but what is the market value for an 82 Collectors Edition in a normal economy. Of course C3 values may be a safer bet than many stocks when the economy takes a dump.
85k miles - above average exterior condition, has every option (power mirrors, AM/FM CB, cruise), only needs drivers seat leather replaced.
I just bought one and I am curious to see how I did on price.
Thanks

Need more information to estimate a price...
However, if you already have the car, I wouldn't bother to see if you did good or not. Just enjoy the car! Please post some pictures...

So the value of YOUR 82 CE is exactly what you just paid.

I agree with the post above - in order for a deal to be done there must be a buyer and a seller...that's what's wrong with the short term credit/commercial paper market
But to answer your question, the 82 CE market has gotten stronger and your car seems nicely equipped with the CB and all. Originality with these cars is a must. Biggest expense is the fade decals as they cracked, weathered quickly unless the car was kept inside. The interior is a one - off year as well so expect to pay $$$ for the seats, door panels and other dash items as this color combo was exclusive to the CE.
Another potential problem areas is the lift glass/struts. The hinges stretched out over time causing fitment problems and water leaks. Also the struts are near impossible to find once the bit the dust.
Other than that and the wheels the car is basic crossfire injected '82. She should run fine so long as you keep all the smog and sensor stuff in place. She is what she is; 200 HP, 285 TQ coupled with the 700R4 tranny and overdrive. Makes for a nice cruiser with some decent stoplight get up and go.
Enjoy

$10,000 for exceptional condition? I'll take all you can find. I agree with all the comments above, just a matter of what you are looking for. I paid $20,000 for mine in May, 2007 with 34,000 miles. I paid a couple of thousand more than I thought I should, but I was looking for a CE and this was the nicest I could locate within my region and I did not feel like flying all over the country to look at others. I am very happy with it. Very solid and was well taken care of. It appraised for $19,000. I knew these were dogs when I bought it and vowed to keep it original as possible, but after driving it for the summer decided it needed a little more performance than stock. I have kept all the original parts so that it can be put back to stock if the next owner wanted to. But for now, I'm enjoying it. Much more fun with the perfrmance mods! I also replaced the hood decal on mine. So want did you pay?? Pictures.

I will post pictures soon. I paid $6400 at a dealer auction. I was not looking to buy a C3 at all but when I saw it in line in another lane I went and checked it out. I had the driver pop the hood and everything was there - dusty but running really nice. The interior was all there with all the keys and owners manual. I sold my 76 in January for $10,300. I would have paid $8500 max but the other bidder backed out at $6300 so I won at $6400. I really missed the 76 but this will keep me occupied for some time going over everything and cleaning it up for a show or two. I don't plan to sell this one.

The catalog that I have, has the decals at about $1400. The seat covers are available, just expensive.$590.
However, you said the exterior is good, so maybe it doesn't need the decals. I think as long as everything else is working, and rust is not a problem, I would have to say you did good.

CE Value
For any condition better than "Trashed" I'd say you got a Great Deal!
Two Years ago I paid $16,500. for a 28,000 mile car that was original except for a full mint repaint (& new decals) Since then I've put nearly that much into refurbishing the interior, performance mods, wheel & rubber. Fixing the hatch.
I felt (and still do) that I wanted to go with a stock "appearance" (a Sleeper if you will) inside & Out, but open the hood and WOW!
Personalized is Personalized & Stock is Stock. But in either category your buyer has to want the car, at that price.
I have to admit though, a few days ago I saw a "Bloomington Certified" CE on Ebay for $19,000. I was tempted to bid, but My wife would shoot me since I haven't even gotten done paying for this one yet.
Corvette Magazine just did a "Value" artical a few issiues back if my memory serves if put the range like $12-24,000 based on condition.
Big range.
Good luck with your new toy.
