Here's a pic I found a while back of a '74 Motion:

With the exception of badging, anything you find a true motion car could have been had by walking in the front door. Shop swap meets and ebay and you can duplicate a motion car.

I've heard the fastback was a ecklers kit, but I have never been able to verify that. Every car I have found with the fastback was a motion car of some kind.

If you come across a car with enough clues it would be worth it to pay Rosen's fee. In my case, base model no-power car 427/4spd/4.56, Fastback,Ansen slots...it isnt worth it.

I need to check for the suspension work some day as that would be another hint.

Its my understanding you may find a invoice/build sheet on top of the gas tank. Find one with Baldwin Chevrolet on it and the $1,500 is cheap.

While true, I appear to be misquoted.

Actually Motion badges were available for sale at the store and come up on ebay from time to time still on the cards as they sat on the shelf and will bid to $1000. The GT is even easier to get, shop Pontiac swap meets and look for GTO (don't put the "O" on the car ) Just about everything I have came from the 'bay over a peroid of years.

My point was simply that the remaining undiscovered Phase III GT's may forever remain that, undiscovered. Restored to pristine NCRS standards by those who didn't know at the time what they had.

I'm hardly an expert, but I have lusted for one of these since age 12 when I bought Marty Shorr's Hi-Performance Cars magazine off the news stand in 1971. To learn more about these cars from people much more knowledgable than myself check out http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/post...0/Board/motion

Here are some Motion "near misses"

While all there minus the vintage electrics, this is a (beautiful) clone. (the three barrel was changed to a four).

Motion "Pro Touring"???

Any new motion clones out there? Just had my 71 painted with the motion stripes. Check out "My Photos" and avatar. haven't figured out how to paste into a thread yet.

Love to see some new photos, and swap some "where to find Motion parts" stuff.

More pics of the Motion car that silverdevil posted yesterday.

These were taken at the NCRS event in Charlotte last week.

A few years back there was a guy who posted here on the forum. He had just bought a Phase III and was towing it home. He took pictures on the trip back home with the car. Claimed it was the real deal. It was white with gold striping. I think I saved the pictures on my home PC. Will look tonight/tomorrow.

He said he was going to post updates as the restoration progressed. Haven't heard from him since.

I ran into a 69 Motion Vette at the Sam Memmolo car show in GA a couple of weekends ago. The owner said he purchased it at BJ in August last year. It looked to have some modifications, so not sure of how original, and won't debate that here. I think he said it was #163 (not sure - gettin old). It certainly caught my attention for a while.

Great pix. Mine's coming together slowly. Looking at wheels now.

Looks like the wheels are the Ansen Sprint made by American Racing, correct?

I wonder exactly how BJ represented that car. No way is that a BM car. Just look at the differences in the engine bay. This is what it should look like.

Emblems, fan, intake, air cleaner, ignition box, distributor, alternator bracket (and then there's JR's sig. on the distributor doghouse) :thumbs

Default motion gt headlights

im curious... do you guys think it would be possible to do a replica of the motion gt front end witht he fixed headlights, buy just doing some fiberglass work on an existing front end, i.e. cutting out the holes and fixing the headlight assembly into it versus getting a new front end made of fiberglass specifically for the fixed lights?
i hear alot of people saying that the lights are from a datsun 240z, so im wondering if you could just use the following:

http://www.zcarsource.com/content/p/...__Right___used

http://www.blackdragonauto.com/features/z/ZEL1.htm

http://www.blackdragonauto.com/features/z/zhlc.htm

after (correctly, of course) measuring and cutting out sections in the exisiting front clip to accomodate the new headlight assembly, and removing the exiting front end flip ups and fiberglassing the rectagular holes the factory flip ups would leave.

im just playing around w ideas, after a recent accident. Still not sure if I have to get an entire new front clip or not, but if its something that can be done with just some fiberglass work, i figured it see if i could do the motion gt look ive wanted on the front for a while.
I know alot of people are not a fan of the look at all, but I personally like it, and im not worried about resale value or anything like that.

sorry for the long winded post!
