Sure, Resale Red, Get-a-ticket Red, saw a red C6 getting a ticket this week! Red...you can have it. When looking for my C3, if the car was red, I didn't even look. Not a fan of red.

How about Orange.
Depending upon the time of day and
the angle of the car at the Sun, I get all kinds of hues, including Red.
No stigma here. Orange, hot like the Sun. The new Red.
Ha ha!

That book is a very interesting read. The Foreword goes backward to about 1991 (C4 time):
The one-millionth Corvette would be built in the next year or so and be painted in the old shop. At an earlier meeting, a discussion of paint quality and paint colors for future years of Corvette had dragged on so long that John Heinricy, then leading Corvette's development group of test drivers, couldn't take it any longer. "Why are we even having this discussion?" he asked. "All Corvettes are red. The rest are mistakes."
BTW, the 1,000,000th Corvette produced in 1992 was white to honour the only color available in 1953 (Polo White).

"The rest are mistakes" is simply one of the most obnoxious comments I've heard. Hate it and the book for that reason.
The only other anti-Corvette comment that's worse is: "sure they made Corvettes after (fill-in year: '62, '67, etc) but who cares?"
PS Paul... yours is Maroon.
