That 64 is a half shade lighter than my old 63 vert
It was an old school California candy and when I put that thing in NC sun ,it faded to pink/silver.
My friend that ran a multi-million dollar body shop wanted a candy look on an old ford, He used a mazda or nisson red.It looked like candy (i swear).
He could have done it the old fashioned way and it would not have cost him a thing....
That truck still looks new

Hey thanks, i was lucky enough to buy it that way, but the guy spent waaaay too much on that paint job. It's got the gold metal flake under the candy red, tons of hours into it, i dont know all the details of it, but in the sun it looks 2 feet deep, almost like you could dive in and swim around in it...

I originally wanted a 72 vert, cuz that the year i was born, so now i'm getting the itch for that 72 again, so ive been sneaking around in the C3 section lately... that & a neighbor has a 68-72 coupe that i cant really describe the color, kind of a blue green grey, which as far as i can nail down was a steel cities grey, but his doesnt look anything like the pics i see on this site, plus he's got the hubcaps from a 69 on it so im confused?

The down side to candy paint is touch up... I've got a few chips, and theres no way your gonna get close to matching the paint so you gotta live with a few chips when they happen.

That's a cool idea. I was thinking of just doing a BM stripe in candy over the silver BC, but now the wheels are turning....

I'm using BASF R-M paints and they have a Carizzma candy line.

(of course, the Black Cherry doesn't seem to show up on the site)

Anybody try these?
