My 1974 and a Ship
There is an annual car show on the St. Lawrence River that is one of my favourites. The locale is about 60 miles from home. The morning broke dreary/cloudy but it's August already so what the heck. Not much time left in the season here.
The show typically attracts 500-600 cars but with the weather forecast (60% chance of showers) many did not show. Gasoline prices might be a factor as well as we are paying well over $5.00/gallon. I came home early to avoid possible thunderstorms. That Windjammer has to come off to get the top up and I am lazy.
This was a Club event so we have a meeting spot on a four-lane that is convenient to most. It is an old truck weighing station that is no longer in use but maintains porta-potties for the comfort of truckers. Here is a pic from there.
This pic was taken at the show and shows an empty container ship plying the St. Lawrence Seaway.
Short but fun day. The 1974 purred. Guess points and condensor properly set up still cut the mustard.

Yes, that was the Brockville show today.
My 1967 won Best of Class (1982 Corvette and Earlier) last August at Brockville.

I'll miss it but sometimes you have to move on. Life takes on new priorities as time moves along. And the 1974 is not a shabby car that I am embarrassed to drive. In fact, I rather enjoy it.

That's older 1974 medium red but hand-rubbed inch-by-inch with claybar and then Zaino'ed. It has flaws but I am not about to spend $6,000 on paint to make it better. I drive. And people drool.
Next project. I have ordered two extra tail lights (unique to 1974) and will be changing out the back-up lamps for four tail/brake. Did this on my 1979 and it worked well.

I am thinking about going with four tail/brake lights on my car, what are you going to do for a reverse light? What did you do in the '79?

Yes, I like C3s and this is my first convertible. I've only had the top up once.
