Red Stripe Tire 1969 427
#2
...not anymore ...
Our '68 still had an original Firestone Wide Oval redline in the spare tire tub. But it was badly worn. Still I kept it as a spare for years, hating to pitch it.
Finally pitched it last summer when I got a new set of redline radials from Coker.
I was tempted to use it for a swing in a huge old tree out back...
Good luck on the search.
(By the way... if you intend to drive the car much at all, I recommend Coker's redline radials. They're BF Goodrich tires, and perform and ride great!)

The new red lines are 7 treads as opposed to the original 9 tread. If you will be judged, you will be burned. However, any 9 tread tires I know of are unsafe to drive as they are old.
There are old tires on ebay from time to time, but use them for show only.

The owner of the car will be using them for show only. his car is all original with the exception of the tires the original owner put radials on it.

When I pulled the spare out of the 69 that I had bought, I noticed it was a Goodyear redline tire. It appears to be the original tire and looks new, hardly used.
