For some strange reason, I really have an affinity for your Vette.

Its very thin brushed aluminum w/a clear coating. I purchased it as a kit. Not sure where I got it off the web.

No joke, you call your engine a rat motor, but that's a big block, a small block is a mouse motor.

Did not know that. I thought all hot rod motors were called rat motors.
I guess it's true you learn something new everyday....

Yep, the term Rat Rod means a big block powered hot rod.

S'okay, you know now and that's what's important.

Rat Rod's are usually ratty looking in the body but with finely detailed engines

Cool, I learned something new too...though I think rust rod would have been more appropriate considering the look they shoot for and then there wouldn't be the confusion over engine size in the name.

Tubbing the rear wheel wells.

here is the chop about 4"

Some sheet metal reinforcing strips while I firberglas, they are going to be removed once I get one side glassed.

Here is one of hte wheel wells back in place ready to be glassed.

And the same view from the bottom. The cuts turned out pretty good over all. Going to be fiberglassing tomorrow starting on the bottom and after the glass has set I am going to take off the sheet metal and glass the top.

Here is the rear compartment after I cut out the wheel wells.

and of course the reason why I have to tub my rear wheel wells.

Custom round tube chassis, custom tall deck big block 572. Custom Tremec TKO 600 built to take 800 HP, custom Wilwood brakes and more.

I've just bought a 69 corvette with only lap belts and want to put in shoulder harnesses the way you did, one simple fastener for both belts that retracts to the side of the car, beside your head. I know you posted this 10 years ago but there is not much info on how do do this with updated seats. I'm wondering where you got the belts and what there was for structure to connect the belt to the side of the car (where you reach up to pull the belt down and fasten it).

Thanks
Allan
