Default 3rd bad wiper door actuator!!!

My early 69 hasn't had the wiper door working since I've had it, so I decided to tackle the job. I've gotten 3, yes 3 actuator's that are frozen! Literally, brand new out of the box and 20" of vacuum won't budge them.
Anybody run into this?
No, lubricant doesn't help!
The last 2 were from Zip and they are taking both back, and promise to bench test one before they ship it to me.
These things should move pretty easily with your fingers, right???

My wiper's door mechanism will move by as little as 2-3 Hg of vacuum, and its a real easy job for the actuator. yours are really having problems!!

Did you try to rebuild the original? its very easy job!

Yes, I bought one for one of our projects and you need to be a weight lifter to move it. It looks good but it is a piece of crap. I bought it on ebay.(same manufacturer must make all of them)

Well I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one having a problem. The first one I bought on Ebay, the next 2 came from Zip. Same problem on all three!
Yes, 2-3" of vacuum should do it!
Will I ever get it working?!!!

I bought my last couple from Volunteer and they were fine. The shaft should pull in and out easy providing both nipples are open.

Same issue here. 1 from ebay and 2 from Ecklers. Order the one from Ecklers that is for a 68 only. It's actually not a 68 only, but a 69 with a convertor nut. It is american made and move in and out easier. I asked them to test it also before they sent it out. Sorry I don't have the catalog #, but it is the most expensive one listed.

I may be lucky! ..

Anyway, try to lubricate all the articulated joints and the shaft that goes through the wiper house to the cut off switch. I did that and it made a big change.

About the bad actuators, I dont know about them, since I still have the original factory one and its working good.

Mine was an original GM actuator and it was pretty easy to move by hand. The System acutally worked after I got all the leaks blocked.
