Diesel powered C3 Drag Car

That pass was an injured pass. Had issues with the transmission, lock up didn't work nor did we get it to go into over drive. Also had a cold pipe boot blow and the gillutine shut. It ended up running a 12.56 @ 102 mph.
And you are right diesels are picking up ranks in the racing world. We have a friend with a funny car that is running pr comp eliminator and has been in the 8s but ios running 9s consistantly and has a huge corporate sponsor of Power Service.
He has to be right since major corporate companies are dishing out sponsorships to them.

There's noting wrong with diesel power and you really cant go wrong with it.
1 diesel are torque multipliers usually on the upwards end of 2 X horsepower meaning if you got 600hp your ruffly got 1200ft pounds of torque
2 their torque range is very flat meaning on shifts they never leave their max torque unlike a gas motor that has a curve and has to run back up to its peak
3 and not least they are fast as hell and a diesel beyond belief will rev damn quick.
4 they are easy to build and can go into many different areas from turbos to nitrous to even propane injection
5 easily detuned then retuned for racing or daily driving
6 the man that smoked you in his truck. his motor dont really break in till 100k in miles and he can tow all his toys.
so this said when someone goes out and buys their 150k new ZR1 and sits on a line with someone that put money in their diesel i am sorry to say but that ZR1 is gonna be sitting at the line.
dont get me wrong nothing better the a fuely burning off some alchol or race fuel and the roar they have.
best i have seen so far in person and not heard about was a chevy 2500 duramax 1401hp at the tires 2465 ft lbs of torque
