Default Fiero seats installed

I just got my Fiero seats installed and thought I would share with you guys. I am very happy with the outcome. I was a bit nervous about these, but after getting them installed I love them.

I got the seats off of Craigs list for 50 bucks and the covers from mrmikes.com. I got the leather covers that are a bit pricey at 750 but he also has a leather look alike for around 350. Everything else in the interior I have done has been leather like the dash and console so i bit the bullet for the seats.

No it was really pretty easy once I figured out what I wanted to do. I used the rails that came on the fiero seats because I didn’t want to mess up the ones on my original seats.
I have some pictures of what I had to do to make them fit in the factory mounting holes if you are interested.

Yes I installed Memphis audio 3.5 speakers in place of the originals, but I don’t have them hooked up yet. I still have the factory radio

The original tracks are just a bit too narrow and one of the rear mounting tabs is turned in the wrong direction. I ground off the rivets holding the tab that is in the wrong direction on both seats. Then I swapped the tabs from the drivers seat to passengers and welded them back in the original place. By swapping the two tabs it made them in the correct orientation. Then I made some tabs out of 1/8” steel 3” X 2 ˝ welded them to the original mounting tabs. Next I made a cardboard template of the mounting holes position and transferred it to the tracks. I hope this makes sense

Kick azz nice! That's my next planned upgrade. Thanks for the write up on how you fixed the tracks, that was my main concern. Am I right that the rear tabs are at a slight angal? C.

The rear tabs are parallel with the seat tracks. I just measured the original corvette seat tracks maximum length and width. What I came up with was the fiero tracks needed to be wider in the back and the front lengthened a couple of inches

EDIT__I see what you are seeing now..No it's an illusion.

I will have to agree with everyone else. Those look great. The crossed flags bring them right in with the C3. So many guys are doing so many nice things with their vettes lately. Yours included. Makes me think about picking a set up. Nice work.
