1979 Carb Morning Sickness
I recently got my stock 79 L82 automatic out of winter storage and have been driving to work for the last two weeks.
The car has been hard to start each morning. Pump the throttle once and turn ignition, engines fires up and choke begins to open but after approximately thirty seconds it dies.
Any attempt to restart by pumping throttle and cranking causes the carb to flood and the only way to restart is to fully depress pedal and crank.
During the day or at end of day the engine starts and does not die off on initial start though it sometimes feels it wants to.
The carb appears new and I have added a new choke pull off and tried some minor adjustments to the choke coil but have not eliminated the problem.
Any opinion whether this is a choke related problem or an overnight leaky carb.
Thanks
Adrian
