Melting Slicks
I like the fact that when I was a kid my friends older brothers all had Corvettes and now (some 40 or so years later) I have one... paid for and fun as hell to drive!!!

Favorite thing about my year,
the front and rear bumper treatments the 80 got.
Last year with no computer.
The seats fit me perfectly, they dont bother my bad back like most other car seats.
The T-Tops and being able to see the stars on a warm summers night cruise.
It's Paid for.
It's Mine.
It's Black.
Mike.

Drifting
View from behind the wheel even... even if I do have to constantly turn her to the right to go straight.
The way she shakes at idle and rocks when I hit the gas... even if she is a bit slow anyways.
The roar from the sidepipes no matter what RPM... even though she kills me with the fumes.
And the fact that she used to be my dads... even though he got an 08 and put on a supercharger and alcohol injection.
Plus shes so easy to work on.... hahahah that last one was a joke.

Still love my 68 and it's unique features. Haven't changed my mind a bit since this thread started over 2 years ago

Burning Brakes
Me neither, but I started looking for one at about the time this thread was started. After researching and reading everyone's opinion, I decided I would limit my search to a '69-'72, but '71 was the ideal year for me, because...
* Chrome bumpers and sail-panels on roof for coupe
* Runs on low-octane unleaded gas
* Still has fiber-optics and removable rear window
* Eggcrate grilles and clear front turn-signal lenses
* I think the square exhaust outlet just fits better with the rear bumper profile than the earlier round exhaust
* Data plate still lists gross hp rating
* Seat pleating runs front-to-back
I wouldn't have turned down a different-year chrome-bumper, but '71 was my ideal, so when one turned up locally last year in the condition I wanted and in my price range, well, what else could I do?
